Contract Law is Holy Law

This effect does not exist because of some environmental or situational factor. This effect exists wherever the person believes it exists.
Excommunication doesn’t matter to a heretic, for instance. They have already excommunicated themselves. If you tell them to go, they are happy to leave.
And you do not have to know that someone feels this way, in order to benefit. The person will simply be a consistently reliable business partner. Their yes will be a “yes” and their no will be a “no”.
If you overpay, they will send you a refund unasked. If you are down on your luck, they will try to be sympathetic and extend the deadline. If they cannot bring the required effort, they will inform you immediately and help you arrange an alternative supplier. And they will be reluctant to enter into contracts, in the first place, because open obligations weigh so heavily on their soul.
Human sanctions are not, and never have been, adequate assurance of contract because someone sly can find a way around the clauses.
Your assurance lies in the confidence that this person will not try to find a sneaky way around the clauses, and that they will not run from debt collection, because they know that there is a third actor keeping watch over their honorable fulfillment of the contracts.
