If nostr is dead because there’s not enough engagement or whatever metrics people seem to care about, so be it.
I’d rather bathe in the decaying remains of nostr before going back to ad-infested, algorithm controlled, surveillance laden, soon to be digital ID requiring, normie-infested safe space censorship platforms.
I’ll keep on submitting notes into the void until the last relay breaks down.
Our movement isn’t dead; I am bringing in many new units from other quarters, and they are waking up… the leaven is good, and soon the bread will be ready for the oven. I am with you!
I believe (naive as it may be) where #nostr outshines the big social is the way Nostr can be integrated into everything people do and build a social layer to it. For example, it is possible to build a collaborative workspace with zero friction where people seamlessly move from social media discussions to collaborative coding to hosting to sharing in their chosen space and audience, the fine grained control of who builds and who tests in the ecosystem. Therefore it’s somewhat pointless to state that NOSTR is a desert, because it is not. The platform is evolving and thriving. It’s a very different paradigm with NOSTR. Not just the chat and share but an integrated ecosystem that rewards creators and evaluators. Imagine the power of peer reviewers in an ecosystem powered by NOSTR where the reviewers are rewarded with zaps that turn into funds. Then the integration of NOSTR with AI tools is an evolutionary step in what is possible when you mix social with AI in a productive way.
Nostr is good in terms of privacy, user control plus no censorship ban hammering and ads.But needs some polishing and bigger user base.
Btw what’s the current user base of nostr?
The tools can survive like a cockroach. If it becomes too unsafe to run it on clearnet, we can go deeper into the net’s underbelly to keep the signal going.
If that’s not enough. build out the physical infrastructure with mesh networks and bypass the the system.
