FIPS Project Update and v0.5.0 Release

We've got exciting news for you, another FIPS release! New features, new platforms and many, many bugfixes! We've landed the first version of the native API that lets you interact with other nodes over FIPS directly, without going through IP first. Android and FreeBSD are now supported and much more.

Vector Receives HRF Grant

Vector has just qualified and received a grant from the Human Rights Foundation through its Bitcoin Development Fund. We are one of sixteen projects in Round II of 2026, a round totaling more than 500 million satoshis across Bitcoin development, payments, mining, education, and Nostr.

FIPS Project Update and v0.4.0 Release

It has been about six weeks since v0.3.0, and the response has been great. We estimate the public test mesh averages 1500-1600 nodes online at a time, with the optional bootstrap nodes peering with hundreds of inbound connections each.

FIPS Project Update: v0.3.0 and a Growing Community

In the months since v0.2.0, a community has crystallized around FIPS. Operators have stood up nodes across regions and run them on the public test mesh; contributors have reviewed patches and reported bugs against real traffic; and developers have landed substantial new features.
