The man behind Adenauer
Hans Maria Globke, Secretary of State in the Federal Chancellery from 1953 to 1963, was the right-hand man of Konrad Adenauer. From the outset, the long shadow of the recently overcome Nazi regime fell on the young Federal Republic along with him.
