Transparency & Education:

After my 2022 layoff, I deepened my involvement in Bitcoin. Joining a BitDevs meetup introduced me to industry experts. By actively engaging, asking questions, and taking initiative in open-source projects, I built my reputation and expertise. This proactive and inquisitive approach eventually led me to earn an OpenSats grant. Key takeaway: Dive in, learn, and always question.

2023-08-28 Fedimint Dev Call Summary

In the recent Fedimint update, progress was made in resolving flaky tests in fedimintd, discussing audit summary improvements, optimizing auditing code for LN contracts, and adding TOR support. Notable PRs included enabling route hint configuration, handling sub-1 sat invoice payments, and prefixing ecash notes with the fedimint ID. A new release tag "v0.1.0-rc1" was introduced, with plans for a regular release cadence, while developers were advised to anticipate migration requirements between releases.

Key Challenges for a GitHub Alternative on Nostr

This article outlines some of the key challenges that we should address to use nostr to enable authoritative git repositories, updated exclusively by authorised maintainers, and the surrounding collaboration. It explore ways that some of these problems could be avoid if we focused on the surrounding collaboration and accepted a centralisation traded-offs for the underlying git repository.
