The Ngata Dictionary is a great resource for English to Maori translations. The Papa Reo API is amazing at giving your pronunciation feedback for any Maori sentence you encounter.
Can Tim Ferriss' Golden Sentences work with a Polynesian language? Specifically Te Reo Maori, from New Zealand. Difficulties arise when trying to condense a language's grammar into 13 sentences. Especially when said language doesn't share similar cultural viewpoints, or is from a completely different language family. I am of the opinion that these "Golden Sentences" aren't as useful as I initially thought.
This article shares some of my observations around improving the sound of my spoken reo. I briefly touch on the current "sound" of Maori and provide resources on how I personally go about improving it. I look towards other polynesian languages and old Maori language interviews to try and replicate their sound.
