Conventions — emergentgov kasten

Instantiated from the portable template in zettel-guide, AI-seeded corpus-mapping variant. The invariant skeleton applies unchanged: flat folder, one idea per note, one index, typed filenames, header blocks, Related lists, dangling links are TODOs, tick don't delete.

Knob 1: note types (this kasten)

- src- :: external source (one per paper/chapter). Claims carry page locators and ≤25-word quotes — pointers, never text (fair-use citation only; the corpus never enters the kasten). - concept- :: an idea extracted across sources (inventory). - claim- :: a settled judgment of the project — {{@@liminal 🦠}}'s thesis beats as articulated in the project's orientation documents. Drafted by the assistant from those documents; the judgment is {{@@liminal 🦠}}'s. - syn- :: {{@@liminal 🦠}}'s own synthesis/speculation. RESERVED FOR THE HUMAN — the AI seeds these only as dangling links. - q- :: open question; where sources disagree or the Nostr case strains the theory. - agent- :: provenance note for an AI mapping session — which agent, what task, what sources it read, what notes it wrote. - meta :: index, conventions, mission, literature-map (the organizational map of the literature map).

Knob 2: status vocabulary

Lifecycle of certainty for an AI-seeded mapping:

drafted (machine-written, unverified) → checked (read against the source) → working (in active use for the paper) → fluent; plus stale (needs review) and abandoned (kept as provenance). Meta docs are current. Grep :status: drafted for the review queue — absorbing the mapping means emptying it.

Provenance

Every note carries :author: — assistant (with :agent: naming the session agent) or {{@npub1m3xdppkd0njmrqe2ma8a6ys39zvgp5k8u22mev8xsnqp4nh80srqhqa5sf}}. Checking a drafted note means following its citations, not re-reading the source.

Header block (every note)

:title: <title> :type: src | concept | claim | syn | question | agent | meta :status: <knob 2> :date: <last substantive revision> :author: assistant | {{@@liminal 🦠}} :agent: <agent-name, when author is assistant> :tags: <comma, separated>

src- notes add: :cite: (authors, year, venue), :doi: or :isbn: when known, :file: (path under the local source folder), :pages: (printed-page range and PDF offset if they differ).

Unit of work (rule 6)

One reading/mapping session = update the kasten before the session ends: the notes it produced, their index entries, and the session's agent- note, in the same sitting.
