Give your time priority
Yesterday I forgot to switch my phone off. Late at night it rang. Someone I truly care about. I consciously didn’t pick up.
Still, a quiet guilt stayed with me—yesterday toward them, today toward myself, simply because I forgot to turn it off beforehand.
It’s not about keeping people away.
Boundaries just feel unfamiliar at first. They don’t mean I value someone less; they mean I’m still learning to honor my own rhythm without over-explaining.
Lately I’m trying:
🌙 30 min before sleep → phone off.
🌞 30 min after waking → phone on.
Not a rigid rule. Just a gentle invitation to land in myself before rest, and after rising.
I’m noticing: when the morning starts without a screen, the day arrives softer. A few breaths. The quiet. Waking up at my own pace. It just feels closer to how I actually want to begin.
How do you protect your first and last hour?
