I spent 100+ hours researching the best EMF-meters in existence. I’m EMF-sensitive myself, so this really matters to me. I have personally tested a dozen+ meters at this point. This guide is the culmination of that field work.
This article contains affiliate links/codes with price discounts.
The recommended EMF meter set below is BY FAR the best health purchase I have ever made. And it is not close.
Buying those meters made it possible to resolve my health issues entirely. Without those meters it was fully impossible.
Now, this obviously sounds absolutely clinically insane** for the average person. But I do have fully unfucked on the order of half a dozen “incurable” chronic health issues simply by being able to properly measure and mitigate my EMF environment.
Im not completely just making shit up either, because we do have on the order of 2,500+ peer-reviewed studies at this point that clearly show biologic harm from “non-ionizing” (=the ones assumed safe) EMFs. I actually made a post about many of those:
🌞HELIOS🌞 @helios_brah · Dec 10, 2025
“There is no proof for health risks from non-ionizing EMF radiation!”
The “no proof”:
👉 NTP (2018) - “Toxicology and carcinogenesis in rats exposed to whole-body radio frequency radiation”
👉 Falcioni (2018) - “Brain and heart tumors in rats exposed from prenatal life until
In addition to that, I have also started interviewing people on my Podcast who share the same symptoms: Link to YouTube
Im estimating the amount of people who have legit EMF sensitivty like myself or worse to be in the 100,000s worldwide, meaning it is quite rare in that severity. But then lighter cases that can “feel something, sometimes” are likely much higher at up to 30% of the entire population. The 30% is Prof. Dr. Olle Johannsons number, not mine btw. (Prof. Johannson is the most prolific researcher on the EMF topic worldwide at Karolinska Institute, Sweden)
If you still dont believe me at this point and think Im making all of this up, I cant really do a lot more in terms of convincing tbh
But then to be fair, Im a Greek-Bronze-Statue-Profile-Picture-Account on the internet. In terms of health/medical qualifications that isn’t exactly a lot, so some proper amount of distrust is actually absolutely warranted at this point.
Take everything with a grain of salt. Not medical advice. Do your own research. This is a n=1 story. But most importantly: Just run an experiment and test it yourself.**
On the other hand I have been writing extensively about my health issues on here for years and all the different ways I tried to solve them.
Eventually I did solve all of them:
âś… Sleep Apnea
âś… Heart Arrythmias
âś… Insomnia
âś… Low Testosterone
âś… Prostatitis
âś… Dry Eye/Digital Eye Strain
Before buying any EMF meters, I would definitely first check this symptoms list:
🌞HELIOS🌞 @helios_brah · Nov 27, 2025
This is a non-exhaustive list of possible Electrohypersensitivity (EHS) symptoms btw:
lmao.
Headaches
Sleep Problems
Insomnia
Waking Episodes at Night
Dizziness
Difficulty Concentrating
Memory Problems
Brain Fog
Fatigue
Sudden and Intense Carb Cravings
Tinnitus
Ear Humming
The list is quite broad (as is common with mitochondrial diseases), so you should have at least 7 to 8 of these (or 3-4 of the more severe ones), at which point an EMF meter purchase would make sense.
I will give you the absolute BEST IN CLASS and BEST VALUE and MOST CONVENIENT options upfront and explain the tradeoffs and opportunity costs:
What are we even measuring?
For now and FOREVER, remember the following acronym:
MERDE (=“shit” in French 💩🇫🇷)
[M] - Magnetic fields
[E] - Electric fields
[R] - Radio frequency fields
[DE] - Dirty Electricity
Thats it.
There are only these 4 EMF types that we need to worry about.
(You could add “Artificial Light” as a 5th EMF and make the acronym MERDA. which means exactly the same, but in Italian 💩🤌 The thing is, I dont really recommend buying Spectrometers (=artificial light meters) because you dont actually need one to decide if a light source is bad or not. Thats why for all intents and purposes we are sticking with just MERDE and focus on these 4 EMF types)
As with everything, quality and accuracy have their price.
These meters definitely are not the cheapest on the market, but I will include a very legit SAVINGS HACK at the end!
This recommendation section of this article will be kept up-to-date and updated frequently as new EMF measuring options appear on the market.
OPTION #1: BEST IN CLASS and MOST CONVENIENT
-
Safe and Sound EM3 [M] [E] 649$ (Link)
-
Safe and Sound Pro2 [R] 399$ (Link)
-
DE Line Meter (AlphaLabs) [DE] 165$ (Link)
-
AM Hand Radio (Retekes V117) [DE] 30$ (Link)
Total: 1,243$ (bought separately)
(You can also buy the entire set bundle for a bit cheaper at 1,204$ here: Link)
If you buy from SLT.co (=manufacturer of the first two), use HELIOS at checkout to get a discount (and feel free to DM me for help on how to use them)
This is the EMF meter set I am using myself right now.
These 4 meters are all you need.
If you cant buy all of them right now, buy them one-by-one in this order:
-
Safe and Sound Pro2 399$ (Link)
-
Safe and Sound EM3 649$ (Link)
-
DE Line Meter (AlphaLabs) 165$ (Link)
-
AM Hand Radio (Retekes V117) 30$ (Link)
You absolutely do need all 4 meters to properly measure all 4 EMFs.
But for most people the RF part (=Safe and Sound Pro2) definitely has priority over the others, which is why you would buy that one first.
THATS IT. THERE IS NO OTHER RECOMMENDATION.
This is why:
I actually bought cheaper meters myself the first time around for a total of around 400$
Those weren’t even bad meters compared to the absolute garbage that is sold most of the time as EMF meters.
TL;DR: I fucked myself EPICALLY with this buying decision. It has cost me on the order of 12 months of my life, because I was not able to measure EMF levels properly with that set.
Basically nothing made sense. I sometimes reacted to some levels that the meters showed in some places but not in others and everything was an absolutely confusing shitshow for 12 months straight.
Only then, after putting some ridiculous amount of research into it, I realised that the meters I bought were absolutely insufficient to solve my problem.
Then I bought the Option #1 meters above and suddenly everything made perfect sense.
Now the set above is absolutely all you need. But there actually are options that go a little beyond that, that do SOMETIMES make sense.
Supplemental EMF Meters that make sense in specific situations:
1. Gigahertz Solutions HF59 [R] 1,275$ (Link)
I dont usually recommend buying this meter, because its expensive and the chances are low that you are exposed to the EMFs it measures. This one specifically measures some types of public safety infrastructure, FM radio stations, lower-frequency installations like air control and navigation beacons or ham radio operators. From all the meters in this section, this is probably the most useful addition, even though its quite specific and in most cases not really necessary. You do need the UBB27 Antenna with this one to measure the frequencies below 200 MHz that the Safe and Sound Pro2 cannot measure. If you dont have that antenna, this meter is pretty useless if you already have the Safe and Sound Pro2.
2. Safe and Sound Pro mmWave [R] 849$ (Link)
I dont usually recommend buying this meter, because its expensive. This meter only really matters if you live in/near a large city or large motorway/road where you increasingly find 5G and beyond RF frequencies used. These higher frequencies are a lot easier to shield against vs the other lower frequencies that we measure with the other meters. “5G” higher RF frequencies dont pass through objects like house walls or even tree canopies very well, so they are often less of a problem vs the lower ones. This meter might become more important in the future as more higher RF frequencies are used more commonly in everyday life.
3. Alternative DE Line Meters [DE]:
I listed the “AlphaLabs DE Line Meter” above in all of the options. This meter is actually exchangeable with very similar meters from other brands. They all work a little differently and display data in different ways, but they all do the job just fine. The alternative ones I recommend are:
-
Stetzerizer Microsurge Meter 150$ (Link)
-
Greenwave EMI (Dirty Electricity) Meter 145$ (Link)
-
Satic Shield EMI Meter 209$ (Link)
4. Alternative Body Voltage Kits (BVK) [E]:
Ive linked a good Body Voltage Kit from SLT.co, but there are also other good alternatives:
- Body Voltage Kit (BVK) from LiveEMFSafe 166$ (Link)
5. E-Smog Spion 550$ [M] [E] [R] [DE] (Link)
Okay this one is a real wild card. Its an INCREDIBLY weird device. For the average person its VERY HARD to use. You basically have to already know the sound patterns of specific frequencies to make the most of it (SLT.co actually complied a list: here) It is extremely sensitive and picks up almost everything with an incredibly broad frequency range. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING IT. You basically have to understand EMFs on a Building Biologist-level to make any proper use of it. Imo this is just not a consumer-grade device.
EMF Meters that I explicitly DO NOT recommend:
Trifield TF2: Its just a shit EMF meter. There really is no way of sugarcoating it. Measuring Electric Fields and RF Fields with it is completely useless. The data you are getting is incredibly inaccurate. Its so bad that the most common RF field this meter misses is exactly in the WIFI/Bluetooth frequency band, which obviously is one of the most important bands to measure. The singular light of hope is the 3-axis Magnetic Field sensor. That one actually measures what it should, most of the time. It still misses here and there. But the magnetic sensor is actually okay. This EMF meter is a lot more popular than it should be. Basically anyone actually using and recommending this EMF meter online has definitively no idea what they are talking about in terms of EMFs. Its a gigantic red flag. Its usually the same people that will try to sell you “anti-EMF pendants” and “harmonizers”, Shungite, bracelets and the all other all-out-scams.
GQ EMF-390: Another way too popular, fully useless EMF meter. I guess you could say that the single axis electric field sensor does notice if there is an electric field present or not when you shove this thing directly against an electrical wall socket. Its absolutely and utterly useless for everything else. This is probably the worst one in this list.
Cornet ED98 5G QPro: I actually have recommended this one in the past. Ive also used it. I dont recommend it and I dont use it anymore. Its better than the Trifield. This one is close to being useful, but it has not been accurate enough to help me solve my own issues. Definitely do not buy the older models of this meter like the ED88 etc. They’re even worse than the Trifield.
Safe and Sound CLASSIC III: This one isnt inherently bad. This was actually the meter I first bought. It has the same sensor as the Safe and Sound Pro2. The problem is that it only has a LED based display. With RF you really need the Pro2’s “MAX” reading. Without that MAX reading any RF meter is imo pretty much useless. Using this meter for almost a year was an incredible waste of time and fully counter-productive and I wish I would have never bought it.
Gigahertz Solutions ME3830B (or similar): It does measure Electric- and Magnetic fields. This was actually part of that first EMF meter set I bought (together with the Safe and Sound CLASSIC III). The problem with this one is that you either way need a BVK to measure Electric Fields, so the single axis Electric Field sensor on this one, even though often quite useful, does not replace a BVK. For the Magnetic Field measurement part, this meter does not measure all 3-axis simulataneously, which means you have to flip the meter 3 times for every axis to get a reading of every axis seperately and then calculate the actual value for any point in space by hand with a mathematical formula. Its theoretically doable, but just absolutely not practical, incredibly annoying and also not accurate at all. Ive used this one a lot and for all practical purposes its not really useful and I should have never bought it.
Many other “multi-meters” (=measure more than 1 type of EMF) under 250$: At this point in time you can basically confidently throw every single EMF multi-meter that costs under 250$ in the trash. This might change at some point in the future. But currently there are no exceptions to this rule.
Now whats the promised SAVINGS HACK?
Its simple:
You are probably a bit on the fence about this whole EMF topic and dont want to get pulled into some retarded scam that costs you 1000+ USD upfront with no guarantees of success
Legit concern.
But you are actually buying HIGH-QUALITY and IN-DEMAND products here that are quite durable (specifically the two most expensive “Safe and Sound” meters from SLT.co)
I actually looked this up and checked past eBay marketplace sales for this and you can see that the expensive meters actually sell second-hand for not a lot lower than what they cost brand new:
🌞HELIOS🌞 @helios_brah · Jan 21
Difference between buying a piece of trash 200 USD EMF multi-meter
vs. a high-quality EMF meter like the “Safe and Sound Pro2” below that sells “brand-new” for 400 USD
Is that the latter commonly sells “Pre-owned/used” on eBay for almost the same money it is sold “brand-new”
That means even in the case that you decide you dont want them anymore, you can still just sell them on eBay/Facebook Marketplace for about the same money you have bought them for.
Ive checked past eBay sales: Second hand sales for around 80% of the retail price are not uncommon.
Again, if you buy from SLT.co use HELIOS at checkout for discount (and DM me if you need help on how to use them)
Q&A - Questions & Answers:
#1: Why do we have two meters for Dirty Electricity (DE)?
The DE Line Meter measures DE on only the hot wire of your house electricial wiring and gives you a numeric value for how bad or good it is. But DE can also be on the neutral and even ground wires. To be able to (mostly) rule out those you would use the AM hand radio and check for audible interference around your sleeping and living areas. DM me if you need help with how to use the meters.
#2: Why do you mostly promote Safe Living Technologies (SLT.co**) products?**
This is very simple. Those are the best pound for pound meters on the market. Period. You can go significantly more expensive with pro-level measuring devices with more accuracy that you dont really need to fix EMF health issues (=they are overkill). You can also go significantly cheaper with 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 devices that measure “everything”, but then in reality dont measure anything well enough to fix EMF health issues (=they suck). SLT.co has absolutely revolutionised the EMF sensor market with their Pro2 and EM2/EM3 series and have provided HIGH ENOUGH QUALITY devices that are EASY TO USE that specifically solve for the EMF biologic harm issue and dont cost a fortune.
FYI before SLT.co released their flagship device, the Safe and Sound Pro at 400$, the alternative was a 2,500$ RF meter that measured HALF the range that the Pro2 measures or on the other end of the spectrum a 200$ peeping, blinking LED-lights nightmare of a consumer-grade meter with no numerical display that commonly missed a bunch of common frequencies. SLT.co is a fantastic company and as long as their meters stay competitive (currently there really isnt much competition tbh) and I personally keep using them almost daily, I dont really see any reason to stop promoting them. These meters were still the best health investment I have ever made, by a nautic mile. And tbh I dont really have anything in mind that would be a better use of your money and time than buying these meters. Like, if this entire issue could be solved with an eBook or a video course or a coaching or a 1-on-1 consultation, Id be happy to provide that. But all of those options would do absolutely nothing by themselves, without the proper meters. And SLT.co sells proper meters.
#3: I have money. Should I also buy all of the supplemental EMF meters, in addition to Option #1?
No. They really only make sense in certain situations. DM me if you are unsure.
