Tim Curry’s death has shifted from a private tragedy to a documented medical account, with newly reported records naming a heart condition while also underscoring the actor’s long-term health struggles.

Documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health identify coronary artery disease as the primary cause of death and list a history of stroke and kidney cancer as significant contributing conditions. The Gateway Pundit’s account, citing People Magazine, also reported that no operations were performed for any of the listed conditions.

Fox News Digital presented the same central finding, reporting that Curry died at 80 on Aug. 25 and that the public-health document listed coronary artery disease alongside his stroke history and kidney cancer. It additionally quoted Curry’s publisher, Jimmy Franco, who confirmed the death as “very sad indeed,” while noting that no further statement was available.

The two accounts therefore largely agree on the medical explanation and the absence of suspected foul play. Their emphasis differs: the liberal report offers a broader retrospective of Curry’s career and the 2012 stroke that left him using a wheelchair, while the conservative report focuses more tightly on official confirmation, the death investigation and his major screen roles.

Both portray the stroke as a decisive turning point. Curry subsequently moved away from much live-action work but continued in voice acting, preserving a career that stretched from the London stage to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, It and Clue. The records clarify the immediate cause of death; they do not erase the wider history of illness that shaped his final years.
