Pro-government says Huljić’s Belgrade appearance will add a Balkan twist to Brightman’s winter tour
Tonči Huljić is scheduled to join Sarah Brightman as a special guest at her November 24 concert at Belgrade’s Sava Center, part of the soprano’s European “A Winter Symphony” tour.
The collaboration took shape over several years. Alen Ključe, director of Star Production, said the company had planned Brightman’s appearance in Belgrade and had envisioned Huljić as part of the project from the outset. Star Production is coordinating the tour’s southeastern European dates, including stops in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
Huljić is preparing special material for the concert. “I’m writing some songs for her. You’ll see,” he said, adding that the melodies would fit the production’s winter theme. Brightman described the partnership as “a perfect combination,” particularly for a part of Europe where Huljić is well known and popular.
The concert is expected to feature the grand but restrained staging associated with Brightman’s previous “A Winter Symphony” shows, alongside songs including “Time to Say Goodbye” and music from The Phantom of the Opera. Organizers also highlight Brightman’s international career, including more than 180 gold and platinum awards and reported sales of over 35 million records.
For Huljić, the event marks a return to a style he regards as central to his musical identity. “I’m returning to my old love, crossover music,” he said. “It’s something I’d like to grow old with elegantly.” Tickets are being sold for the November 24 performance at the Sava Center.
