Pro-government says Zvezda secures its next academy star
Crvena zvezda has secured the future of youth-team captain Vesko Čukić, renewing the contract of the 2009-born striker after a standout season for the club’s academy.
Čukić’s performances drew attention during the current campaign, when he scored nine goals while leading the youth side. Supportive coverage described the agreement as an important step for the club’s future and called him “one of the best and biggest talents” in Zvezda’s youth academy.
The young forward joined Crvena zvezda from Novi Pazar in 2021, having been born in Berane, Montenegro. Since then, he has developed into the captain of the club’s youth team and a prominent prospect at the training fields behind the southern stand of the Rajko Mitić Stadium.
The next stage could come soon. Zvezda expects Čukić to be promoted to the first team during the winter break or, at the latest, next season, where he could strengthen the club’s quota for younger domestic players. One report described him as a winger, while others referred to him as a striker, but all emphasized his attacking potential.
The new agreement reportedly runs until 2029, giving the Serbian champions several years to manage his progression. Club officials also hope that Čukić can eventually become one of the academy’s successful and lucrative player sales, though his immediate target is to establish himself among the senior squad.
