Singer Uroš Živković’s Audi Q8 was set on fire outside his home in Belgrade’s Čukarica municipality at about 4 a.m. Residents reported hearing a loud blast before seeing the vehicle engulfed in flames. The front of the car was destroyed, and a nearby courtyard wall was damaged. Reports said two unidentified men approached the vehicle, poured an accelerant over it and fled. Police are searching for the attackers and have notified prosecutors.

Živković confirmed the incident but avoided discussing its cause. “I confirm the stated information, but at this moment I would not like to go into details or comment further,” he said, asking media representatives for understanding.

A report in Kurir subsequently raised the possibility that the fire was connected to alleged threats and extortion. Citing unnamed sources, it claimed Živković had been pressured for nearly two years to surrender half of his performance income and had faced canceled shows and false bomb threats after refusing. The report also suggested, without presenting official confirmation, a possible link to an earlier attack on singer Zdravko Čolić’s home.

Those allegations remain part of the investigation rather than an established finding. Police are still working to identify the perpetrators and determine whether the singer was specifically targeted and what motive may have been involved.

The incident also prompted concern among entertainment figures. Singer Dara Bubamara called attacks on public personalities a “catastrophe” and said she could not understand what was happening. She added that she had no connection to politics and had “never taken money from anyone.” Her comments reflected broader anxiety in the music scene, but did not provide evidence about who set the car on fire or why.
