In 2024, the United States graciously sent Brazil $60 million in foreign aid.Yet, Brazil wants to thank us by censoring American citizens and websites. In the name of combating “disinformation”, Brazil has threatened American platforms with enforcement actions if they do not take down posts it disagrees with, even if such information is hosted on U.S. webservers.
The GRANITE Act would ensure that American citizens are protected from foreign censorship attempts.
