The actor’s interest is rooted in family ties rather than a newly discovered sporting venture. His mother was from Norwich, and he recalled choosing the club as a child after asking whether her home city had a football team. “That’s my team,” he said of the decision.
Supportive reports compare a potential Jackman role with the prominence celebrity investors have gained across English football, particularly Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s ownership of Wrexham. Jackman openly embraced that comparison while marking out a separate loyalty: “Good on Ryan, you do your thing, I’m all about the Canaries.”
Yet the comparison also underlines the uncertainty. Wrexham’s rise has become a highly visible example of celebrity-backed ownership, whereas Jackman is only at the talks stage and has not disclosed a proposed percentage or financial commitment.
