Voca 1.4.0: a queue that stops when you ask it to
Voca 1.4.0 fixes a queue boundary that could ignore Auto-advance off. Finishing an item now
leaves the next one paused, including when Voca removes finished items automatically. When
Auto-advance is on, a soft two-note sound and a short pause separate items.
The speech service also does less work at sentence and word boundaries. It reuses the selected
voice information instead of asking the Android speech engine for it on every word. This
reduces handover overhead while the screen is on or off; it does not make a third-party voice
generate speech faster. Word highlighting uses measured audio when the installed engine can
render ahead. On a live-speech fallback it uses an estimate, so timing can still vary by engine.
A queue-persistence fix keeps a later item’s full text available when the current item ends.
The release also includes the opt-in diagnostics relay-discovery repair prepared after 1.3.0.
Reports are never sent automatically: you preview a report and choose whether to send it.
Voca still uses your phone’s own speech service and does not bundle a voice model.
