Story Time - Hope With Bitcoin

Dear Hope Builders,

Today we want to look back one year and share with full transparency a story that is both joyful and difficult.

Exactly one year ago, on August 10, 2025, we walked into the Cité des Anges orphanage in Hervié (Cotonou) carrying bags of food purchased with Bitcoin.

228,897 sats were turned into real meals for the children.

A few days earlier, on August 7, we had also welcomed our first 110 chicks.
This poultry farming project was launched with a clear and important goal: to create a sustainable source of income so that our humanitarian actions could gradually become less dependent on donations.

At that moment, we were full of hope.

But life had other plans.

A few months later, an epidemic hit our poultry project hard.
We lost almost everything we had invested; the energy, the money, and a significant part of our motivation.
We were truly broken.
So broken that, at the time, we didn’t even have the courage to publish an update about this failure.

Today, one year later, we can finally speak about it openly and honestly.

That failure hurt deeply.
But it also pushed us to look for another way to build sustainability.

After the loss of the poultry project, we decided to create our own brand.
