Chapter 3:

Whitey wandered from woodland to forest, assisting as many critters as she could. She was born with the intention of using her gift to help others. During her trek, she came across several injured animals. The animals varied from little birds with broken beaks to enormous multicolored polar bears with damaged wings. Whitey was willing to help any animal, regardless of size.


From the chuckling fish in the spring to the clever birds conspiring in the trees, every animal in the forest had a story to tell about Whitey's benevolence. Soon, creatures from all over the realms flocked to seek Whitey's help.

One day, Whitey received a message from a bird in a distant woodland asking for help.


> Ohh Whitey, your stories spread across the land. The animals that live deep in the forest are in desperate need of your help. Our lands have become invaded by poachers where Leo, The Great Seer Dragon resides. Some of the animals have left the forest but several are unable to leave their habitat. Will you heed our request?, The bird asked.

Sensing the urgency of the bird and its situation

> Lead the way! Whitey responded


The bird flew into the sky, and Whitey followed as swiftly as possible.

When she reached the woods, she was hit with a terrible feeling of something dreadful. She found evidence when she got to the poachers' camp. The poachers set traps to kill any animals they caught leaving a pile on the side. 


She sobbed silently for those who had died. For she was unable to help any of the creatures whose lives were taken.  The bird from earlier returned to her side and took her to see the Seer Dragon.


Whitey came to the realization that they would not stop.

The bird led her farther into dense forest until  they got to a secluded location. Leo stood out the most. Several woodland creatures snuggled up. She approached all of the creatures, looking into their hoping eyes, and spoke to the enormous dragon, who appeared partly transparent.

>Thank you, Whitey. Your presences alone brings hope. -- Leo.

>>You called for me? You knew I would come. Why didn't you do anything to help them? Why did you let them die? as Whitey asked in frustration.

After a moment, she paused and realized something else.

>You're not real? But you're talking into my head!--Whitey

>>I am real just not tangilbe. I can only see into the future if help is coming and so I held onto the ones here awaiting your arrival. I light the forest in the dark. What you see is the fragment of my magic embedded in the crystals around you from centuries ago. -Leo

She was astounded and amazed by what she was hearing and witnessing. In all her travels, she had never encountered anything so ethereal -- something that could transcend the realms of death.

>How?, she asked.

>>I shall tell you. But first let's handle the poachers, shall we? He Grinned at her then quickly faded to a serious face--Leo
