This period of astrology asks a question that reaches far beyond price: As Bitcoin becomes part of the financial establishment, who ultimately holds the power?
Something changes as September comes to a close.
The Virgo energy that shaped much of the month has been practical. It has asked us to clean things up, strengthen weak systems and become more disciplined about what we are building.
The final days of September feel different.
There is more fire. More tension. More urgency.
By early October, the astrology moves into much deeper territory around money, power, ownership and control.
For Bitcoin, the timing is fascinating.
Bitcoin is maturing.
The conversation surrounding it is gradually moving beyond the question of whether governments, banks and institutions will accept it. That process is already well underway.
A more complicated question is beginning to emerge.
What happens when they do?
Institutional adoption brings capital and legitimacy. It also brings custodians, regulation, financial products, leverage and intermediaries.
Bitcoin was created as an asset that could be held without permission.
Now, increasingly, people can gain exposure to Bitcoin without ever owning Bitcoin at all.
That distinction may become far more important over the coming years.
And the astrology opening October seems unusually interested in precisely these questions.
Who owns the asset?
Who controls access?
Where does the risk sit?
How much independence are we prepared to exchange for convenience?
It begins with a Full Moon in Aries.
September 26: The Aries Full Moon
The Full Moon occurs at 3°37 Aries.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. There is something wonderfully uncomplicated about its instinct.
I am.
I want.
I will.
Across the zodiac sits Libra, concerned with relationship, agreement, fairness and the delicate art of living alongside other people.
Every Aries Full Moon brings these two instincts into conversation.
Where have I compromised too much?
Where have I mistaken keeping the peace for maintaining balance?
Where do I need to make my own decision?
This can create an emotional turning point.
Something that has been tolerated may suddenly feel intolerable. A decision that seemed difficult can become surprisingly clear.
Aries wants movement.
That does not mean every impulse deserves to become an action. Full Moons illuminate, and sometimes the most useful thing they reveal is the difference between courage and impatience.
For Bitcoin, the symbolism is difficult to miss.
At its heart, Bitcoin gives an individual the ability to hold an asset directly.
No bank account is required to own the keys.
No fund manager needs to approve a withdrawal.
No central institution controls issuance.
Yet Bitcoin now sits inside an increasingly Libra-like web of relationships.
Asset managers. Banks. Governments. Regulators. Custodians. Corporations.
Bitcoin is learning how to exist within the financial establishment while remaining fundamentally different from it.
That creates a tension we will probably be discussing for years.
Exposure to Bitcoin and ownership of Bitcoin are not necessarily the same thing.
An ETF can make Bitcoin accessible to millions of investors.
A custodian can make holding it easier.
A bank can integrate Bitcoin into familiar financial services.
All of these developments can help adoption.
Yet each introduces a relationship between the individual and the asset.
The Aries Full Moon brings our attention back to the individual.
Who actually holds the keys?
Who can move the asset?
Who ultimately has control?
Those questions become even more interesting as we move into September 29.
September 29: Where Expansion Meets Its Weak Point
Chiron squares Bitcoin’s natal Jupiter on September 29.
Jupiter is one of astrology’s great amplifiers.
It governs expansion, confidence, opportunity and our belief in what might be possible.
Chiron has a different function. It has a way of finding the tender place beneath our confidence.
This does not necessarily destroy what Jupiter has built. Sometimes it reveals what needs strengthening if growth is going to continue.
That feels particularly relevant to Bitcoin now.
The Bitcoin story has expanded enormously.
What was once dismissed as an obscure experiment is increasingly discussed within institutional finance, corporate treasury strategy and government policy.
That represents extraordinary progress.
Yet growth creates its own vulnerabilities.
Institutional acceptance can create institutional dependence.
Greater accessibility can create greater centralisation of custody.
More sophisticated markets can create more sophisticated leverage.
Chiron square Bitcoin’s Jupiter asks us to look at the places where the success story may still contain a weakness.
There is another Jupiter transit on the same day.
Jupiter forms a quincunx to Bitcoin’s natal Uranus.
Uranus speaks to innovation, disruption and systems that break with convention. Few assets embody that symbolism as naturally as Bitcoin.
Jupiter wants the disruption to grow.
The quincunx suggests something needs adjusting for that growth to fit comfortably into the existing structure.
We could see this reflected through technology, regulation, custody, financial products or simply the expectations surrounding adoption.
There may be genuine opportunity here.
There may also be growing pains.
The financial system is learning how to accommodate something that was designed according to very different rules.
September 30: The Market Gets Emotional
Jupiter moves into a sesquisquare with Bitcoin’s natal Moon on September 30.
The Moon describes emotional responses, instinct and changing moods.
Jupiter makes things bigger.
Together, they can inflate sentiment.
This is where we need to become a little more discerning about the stories circulating through the market.
Optimism can become infectious very quickly.
So can fear.
Markets are remarkably good at turning a development into a narrative and then turning the narrative into a conviction.
Sometimes the original development barely resembles the story eventually built around it.
Around the end of September, reactions may become louder.
That does not make them meaningless.
It simply means we should separate what has actually happened from what people believe it means.
That distinction becomes especially useful because October begins with a major reassessment of value.
October 3 to November 13: Venus Retrograde
Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3 before eventually returning to Libra.
This is one of the defining astrological cycles of the coming weeks.
Venus tells us what we value.
It speaks to money, attraction, relationships and exchange. It describes what we consider worthy of our resources.
When Venus retrogrades, those values come under review.
We may discover that something we wanted no longer holds the same appeal.
Old financial decisions can look different.
Relationships reveal where the exchange has become uneven.
Our definition of value begins changing.
This retrograde begins in Scorpio, which makes the financial symbolism especially compelling.
Scorpio takes us into shared money.
Debt. Leverage. Taxation. Inheritance. Other people’s resources. Financial obligations.
It also understands power.
Whenever money is shared, power enters the equation.
Who owes whom?
Who controls the resources?
What happens if trust disappears?
This is where Venus retrograde becomes particularly relevant to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin itself can eliminate certain forms of counterparty risk when it is held directly.
But place Bitcoin inside an exchange, lending platform, fund or custodial arrangement and relationships return.
There is now someone else between you and the asset.
That may be perfectly reasonable.
It may even be desirable.
The important thing is understanding the relationship.
Venus retrograde in Scorpio gives us several weeks to look more closely at the architecture being built around Bitcoin.
Custody deserves attention.
So does leverage.
So do the increasingly complex financial products that allow investors to participate in Bitcoin markets without necessarily interacting with Bitcoin itself.
Later, Venus moves backward into Libra, where the questions become more relational.
Is the agreement fair?
Do both sides benefit?
Are incentives aligned?
There is a subtle but important conversation developing here about what Bitcoin adoption actually means.
More institutional participation may be good for Bitcoin’s market value.
Whether every form of institutional participation is good for Bitcoin’s original proposition is a much more interesting question.
October 3: Mars Opposite Pluto
October 3 is a powerful day.
Mars at 3°06 Leo opposes Pluto retrograde at 3°06 Aquarius.
Mars pushes.
Pluto does not like being pushed.
This can create an atmosphere where underlying power struggles become visible.
Leo and Aquarius make the opposition especially relevant to our current moment.
Leo understands leadership, authority and concentrated power.
Aquarius is associated with networks, technology, collective systems and decentralisation.
We can see versions of this tension almost everywhere now.
Governments are wrestling with technologies that move faster than legislation.
AI is raising profound questions about information and control.
Digital identity is changing our relationship with privacy.
Financial infrastructure is becoming increasingly technological.
Bitcoin sits directly inside this conversation.
A decentralised monetary network now interacts with some of the most powerful centralised institutions on Earth.
Mars opposite Pluto can bring those competing instincts closer to the surface.
We should be careful with the temptation to translate this immediately into price.
A powerful astrological configuration does not require Bitcoin to crash or rally on October 3.
Its importance may appear somewhere else entirely.
A regulatory confrontation.
A political debate.
A technology issue.
A struggle over financial infrastructure.
A development that initially seems unrelated to Bitcoin but ultimately changes the conditions around it.
Pluto’s movement through Aquarius is a generational story. Mars simply activates that story for a moment.
Watch where the pressure appears.
October 3: Bitcoin’s Story Gets Stronger
There is another transit occurring on the same day, and its tone is much softer.
Neptune sextiles Bitcoin’s natal Mercury.
Mercury governs information and communication.
Neptune governs ideals, imagination and our ability to envision possibilities beyond what already exists.
Bitcoin has always depended on both technology and narrative.
The code alone does not explain why people have devoted years of their lives to it.
Bitcoin carries an idea about money.
Scarcity without a central issuer.
Ownership without a bank.
Value that can move across borders.
A monetary network whose rules are transparent enough for participants to verify.
Neptune can make ideas resonate at an emotional level.
Under this sextile, Bitcoin’s larger philosophical story may become especially compelling.
We should still remain discerning.
Neptune can inspire, but it can also blur.
Beautiful narratives deserve the same scrutiny as frightening ones.
The useful question becomes:
Does the story match the structure underneath it?
October 4: Pay Attention to What Begins Here
Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow at 5°02 Scorpio on October 4.
This matters because Mercury is now entering territory it will return to later.
Think of this as the opening chapter of a story that has not finished being written.
Conversations beginning now may return.
Decisions may need revision.
Information that appears complete could reveal another layer.
Scorpio gives Mercury an investigative quality.
We become interested in what sits beneath the obvious explanation.
Financial arrangements may deserve closer inspection.
So might regulatory language, ownership structures and institutional relationships.
If something important emerges around Bitcoin during this period, resist the urge to assume you immediately know what it means.
Save the headline.
Remember the conversation.
Watch what happens next.
Mercury may bring us back to it.
October 6: How Much Is Too Much?
Jupiter forms a sesquisquare to Bitcoin’s natal Mars on October 6.
Mars wants action.
Jupiter increases confidence.
This combination can generate extraordinary momentum, but it can also encourage people to push harder than circumstances justify.
There is ambition here.
There is appetite for risk.
There may be a sense that the window is open and something needs to happen now.
This becomes more interesting when we consider the sequence of Jupiter aspects occurring over little more than a week.
Jupiter has touched Bitcoin’s Uranus, Moon and now Mars.
Innovation is being stretched.
Sentiment is being amplified.
Action is accelerating.
The pattern suggests that Bitcoin may be experiencing pressure associated with growth.
That pressure does not tell us whether price moves higher or lower.
It tells us that expansion may require adjustment.
Sometimes the most difficult stage of growth arrives after success.
A system that works beautifully at one scale may need to change when it reaches another.
Bitcoin is reaching another scale.
October 10: The Libra New Moon
Then we arrive at the New Moon at 17°21 Libra.
The cycle that began with an Aries Full Moon ends our forecast with Libra asking how we relate to one another.
Something has shifted.
The Full Moon showed us where independence matters.
The Libra New Moon asks what kinds of relationships can support that independence rather than quietly erode it.
Venus rules this New Moon, and Venus is retrograde.
That gives the lunation a reflective quality.
We may be renegotiating rather than beginning from scratch.
An old arrangement could return in a different form.
A relationship may need new boundaries.
Something that once seemed fair may need another conversation.
For Bitcoin, this brings us back to the question that runs underneath this entire period.
What should Bitcoin’s relationship with the traditional financial system become?
There is no simple answer.
Bitcoin can benefit enormously from institutional adoption.
Institutions can benefit enormously from Bitcoin.
But healthy relationships require clarity around power.
Who holds the asset?
Who writes the rules?
Who assumes the risk?
Who can say no?
These questions may become increasingly important as Bitcoin moves further into mainstream finance.
The Question Bitcoin Can No Longer Avoid
For much of Bitcoin’s history, the great question was whether it would survive.
That uncertainty shaped an entire era.
Would governments stop it?
Would the network fail?
Would anyone take a digitally scarce asset seriously?
Bitcoin survived long enough for the questions to change.
Now we are talking about institutional custody, ETFs, corporate holdings, banking integration and government policy.
That is a remarkable evolution.
It also creates a new challenge.
The qualities that make Bitcoin attractive to institutions are connected to the qualities that allow individuals to operate independently of them.
Scarcity matters.
The network matters.
Self-custody matters.
The ability to verify rather than simply trust matters.
As Bitcoin becomes more financialised, we will have to pay closer attention to the difference between owning Bitcoin and owning a financial claim connected to Bitcoin.
Perhaps that is why this particular sequence of astrology feels so significant.
We begin beneath an Aries Full Moon asking where sovereignty belongs.
Then growth exposes vulnerabilities.
Venus begins reviewing money and shared resources.
Mars confronts Pluto across the Leo-Aquarius axis of concentrated and distributed power.
Mercury enters Scorpio and starts asking uncomfortable questions.
Finally, Libra asks what kind of agreement can hold all of this together.
Bitcoin wanted legitimacy for a very long time.
It is getting it.
The next chapter may reveal what comes with that legitimacy.
And as institutions move closer to Bitcoin, the responsibility of understanding what we actually own becomes more important, not less.
That feels like the message worth carrying into October.
Watch the structures developing around Bitcoin as closely as you watch Bitcoin itself.
Price can tell us what the market believes something is worth today.
Ownership tells us something much deeper about where the power sits.
Until the New Moon …
