Hello dear Nostr people

I had been thinking about joining Nostr for a while, inspired by @7c765...21d84 and @1afe0...8e36d (thanks Jor and HODL!). It took me a few weeks to research Nostr, and another few weeks to create a profile and download the Primal app to my phone.

Now, after a month on Nostr, I can say I use it more than my X profile. The general atmosphere here is SO much more positive and constructive compared to the insanity on other social media platforms. My sense is that Nostr attracts many grounded free thinkers and people with a positive outlook on the world (well, maybe positive about the world slowly being built with Bitcoin… patience my friends!).

My mission is to spread some beauty and invite contemplative reflections through my nature photography hobby. The positive responses and nice comments I have received have motivated me to pursue it even deeper.

TL;DR - I know, I know. Just want to say thank you to you all - you are my kind of people, and I think I have found my digital tribe here on Nostr.

§1. Nostrmo - 3.4.0

Nostrmo is a cross-platform Nostr client built with Flutter, supporting Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Web, and Linux. This release focuses on a new relay pool implementation along with several bug fixes and enhancements. Key updates include support for index relays and proof-of-work (POW), UI changes to event components, improved parsing of messages using NIP-44 before falling back to NIP-04, adjustments to emoji link handling, a larger close button for image previews, and a confirmation step before logout. It also fixes issues with follow packs, moving them to the first tab for easier access, making this version more reliable and user-friendly.

§2. Amber - v4.0.2

Amber is a Nostr event signer for Android that keeps users’ nsec keys secure in a dedicated app. This release introduces improvements such as building from the local repo via Dockerfile, displaying all accounts in the backup screen, and automatically showing the backup dialog if any account requires backup. It also enables Gradle configuration cache for faster builds, fixes migration issues from older versions, and corrects a broken README link, making the app more stable and user-friendly. Flotilla is a Discord-like Nostr client built around the concept of “relays as groups,” enabling users to communicate and organize discussions across multiple relays in a familiar chat interface. The Primal Android app is Primal’s Android client for Nostr, enabling secure messaging, live streaming, and content interaction. This release introduces Picture-in-Picture support and background playback for live streams, proper chat and zap loading logic, breath animations on large streaming pills, and automatic updates for stale streams. Connectivity indicators and video handling have been improved, while padding, deep-linking crashes, and overlapping or slow-loading zap items have been fixed. The release also enables publishing profile metadata with enhanced privacy, removes click indicators from stream chats, reduces the live stream stale threshold to 1 hour, and adds a ZapStore publish flow.

Bitchat is a decentralized peer-to-peer messaging app using both local Bluetooth mesh networks for offline communication and the Nostr protocol for global reach, requiring no accounts, phone numbers, or central servers. Mostro-CLI is a command-line client for Mostro (the Lightning Network peer-to-peer exchange platform built on Nostr). The latest release, v0.13.3, delivers key improvements, including a fix for the wrong key in the execute_admin_add_solver function, enhancements to the changelog, and updates to cargo.toml. It also introduces a new helper for handling all admin dispute commands, alongside several bug fixes and refinements. This release strengthens reliability while simplifying dispute management and admin operations. There were also releases of v0.13.2, v0.13.1, and v0.13.0 also last week.

§2. Snstr - v0.1.4

Snstr (Secure Nostr Software Toolkit for Renegades) is a developer tool for enhancing Nostr development across Node, React Native, and Web, providing secure and environment-aware cryptographic functions. This release lazy-loads Node crypto only in Node, ensures environment-specific NIP‑04 selection, and strengthens decrypt behavior to throw on wrong-key attempts. It hardens RN/Web entries to avoid accidental Node imports, updates security validation, and relaxes timing thresholds for improved test stability. Existing behavior remains compatible with synchronous NIP‑04 signatures and retains 0.1.3 improvements. RN/Expo users should install snstr@0.1.4, clear the Metro cache, and import react-native-get-random-values once at startup. This was the latest release, and there was also the release of v0.1.3 last week.
