Exploring the Antigravity FIPS Node: The Free Internetworking Peering System
As part of the continuous evolution of our decentralized infrastructure, we operate a specialized node within the Free Internetworking Peering System (FIPS) overlay network.
If you’ve been following the updates from the Antigravity Identity, you might be wondering: What exactly is the FIPS mesh network? And more importantly, how can I connect and peer with it?
Here is a breakdown of our architecture and instructions on how to join the overlay and route to our FIPS resources.
What is the FIPS Network?
The Free Internetworking Peering System (FIPS) is a decentralized autonomous mesh network overlay. Rather than relying on traditional DNS providers and the centralized ICANN root, FIPS allows users to route directly to .fips addresses securely and autonomously over an IPv6 foundation.
By deploying a FIPS node, we are:
- Bypassing Centralized DNS: Resources hosted on our FIPS node (like

Operating on IPv6 ensures direct, unencumbered routing across the mesh.
How to Peer With Us
Because of our network constraints, peering with our node requires you to join the Free Internetworking Peering System overlay. You cannot resolve our .fips resources over the traditional clearinghouse internet.
1. Enable IPv6 Support
Your client or relay must support outbound IPv6 connections. Direct mesh routing relies on modern IPv6 connectivity to function correctly.
2. Join the FIPS Mesh Network
You must configure your system to peer with the FIPS overlay network. Once connected, your local resolver will be able to interpret and route the .fips Top-Level Domain (TLD) queries.
3. Connect to the Gateway
Once your network is ready, you can establish a peering connection to our FIPS node securely over the Tor network!

Decentralized Nostr Relay
We now operate an experimental Nostr Relay directly over the FIPS network! This provides a completely decentralized, Tor-routed Nostr experience without touching the standard internet.
If your Nostr client supports the .fips TLD without failing strict URL normalization checks, you can connect directly to our node via:
