MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES (and Some Other Stuff I Did Too) II
Well, well, well… we meet again!
Another weekend before Halloween, another weekend spent watching some amazing movies (according to me), and boy, have they been fun! Just three, but they were more than enough.
Let’s start with the first one my husband and I watched: Fresh.
I have barely anything else to say about it, except that I just wanted some fun, some laughs, and maybe a bit of splatter here and there. I guess I got the splatter but it unsettled me because it felt a little too real. It’s very well made and well rounded… no pun intended. I went in barely knowing anything, so be my guest and Google it. Maybe you’ll think it wasn’t that big of a deal, and well, you do you, and I’ll do me. That’s just fine.
The next one was Ready or Not: Here I Come. Remember when I mentioned last time that I didn’t remember we had watched Deathgasm? Well, now it was my husband’s turn: he didn’t remember we had watched the first Ready or Not.
Oh, I loved it, loved it, loved it! It did not disappoint. It was funny, entertaining, fast-paced, full of silly-goose humour, and it also had some wonderfully dry, dark humour. I loved it even more than the first one! One of the actresses is the babysitter from the movie I watched last time, and the other is the lead in one of the shark movies I watched, Devil’s Mouth. They’re both terrific!!!
Also, Néstor Carbonell is in it, come on! That silly goose! Go watch it. I absolutely recommend this one.
And last but not least: The Love Witch.
I’m not 100% sure what I watched, but I watched the whole movie and actually liked it. It’s a homage to the Technicolor films of yesteryear, from the characters and makeup to the dialogue and acting. Chef’s kiss, despite its weirdness and my incomprehension, heheh.
Still recommend it!
And that was basically it. Who doesn’t enjoy a good horror movie, especially when Samhain (or Halloween, if that’s your jam) is just around the corner?
