Catching up on winter ❄️
How has the first month of the year been treating you? Exciting, boring, exhilarating, exhausting… or maybe all of the above?
January marks the start of the civil year, but nature’s still deep in winter: animals hibernate, plants lie dormant, and everything moves at a slower rhythm. It’s still the tail end of Yule, and though Imbolc is just around the corner in some pagan traditions, I think it’s still a good time to rest, reflect, and quietly line up our ducks. There’ll be plenty of time to gather energy and set things in motion when the season turns.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, if you’ve already been kicking ass since January 1st, that’s amazing! And if you’ve been taking it slow, that’s perfectly fine too. However you move through this time, let’s keep finding ways to rejoice (gently or with gusto) and make the best of what we have. ✨
As for me, I’ve been working on some new blog entries! The first one is about the birth of Jesus and the other explores the life of Jesus. I researched them together but decided to split them into two separate posts, otherwise it would’ve been a marathon to write (and to read, hehe). It’s taking me a bit longer to finish the next blog entries, but don’t worry, I’m still at it!
In the meantime, you can check out some of the art I made for those posts, like one the many studies of Jesus or the one of the Virgin Mary. The extra effort has definitely been worth it. Let me know what you think, and thank you for being here.
Take care, and see you later, alligator 🐊💫
