How To Steal Bitcoin: Stick A Fork In It (It’s Done)

I was there for the Bitcoin Cash split & remember it extremely vividly. We fought against those who sought to make sweeping changes to the network protocol & we successfully fought off the intruders who sought to tarnish our sacred palace.

We did not let it happen.

People kept comparing this Bitcoin fork to that situation, but this was NOTHING like that. This time, the intruders infiltrated in the dead of night. They wore masks to resemble us. They donned the garments of the natives. They repeated our mottos & swore allegiance to us. They mingled among us & smiled in our faces.

Slowly, methodically & intentionally, they poisoned the well that we all shared & drank from. Little by little, they tarnished our stronghold from within. By the time we realized what had happened, it was too late. The citadel was tainted & the community was corrupted so that it was difficult to tell friend from foe.

By the time we realized the full extent of the damage, it was too late. Our leaders had been replaced by impostors. The outsiders had ousted our heroes & sat in the places they previously held. Then they championed causes that were not for us, but for themselves.

When we tried to remove the scourge from our hallowed grounds, we realized that they had stolen the influence & weaponized it against the original citizens. Our home had been snatched from us.

We let it happen.

We stood within the ruins of our once glorious monument to freedom, the vile stench of our enemies hanging all around us; it had seeped into everything.

We let it happen.

We were all there at the exact moment the veil was lifted. What stood underneath was a mirror, reflecting the naked truth right back at us; we were forced to look upon our own ashamed, weary faces & come to grips with the gravity of what we had done.
