Agentic Web — The ContextVM World #10

GM people, and welcome to the 10th issue of “The ContextVM World”, your biweekly appointment to discover everything you need to know about ContextVM, MCP, Nostr, and everything in between!

In today’s update, we cover the latest news from ContextVM. In particular, we discuss the ongoing effort to expose the functionalities of CVM to other programming ecosystems through bindings in our Rust SDK. We also highlight the recent merge of ephemeral gift wraps in NIP-59, and two powerful additions to our website.

We also discuss the latest news from the ecosystem. In particular, we cover Spectr, a multi-column deck for Nostr, integrating Relatr and CVM.

We also show the features we are currently working on. Notably, our team is working on improving CEP-8, which specifies how payments should work for CVM.

Finally, we will share articles, blogs, and posts talking about CVM and the most interesting news from the internet regarding the MCP ecosystem, AI agents, and more!

Let’s start!

News from ContextVM 📰

A list of updates, releases and new cool features.

  • Agentic website: We recently made a huge update to our website, which now includes a chat interface for working with LLMs. This chat connects directly to MCP servers exposed through CVM, making it one of the most comprehensive demos of what CVM enables. Check out this note to see what the new website is capable of!

  • Bindings are coming: A Rust project is never complete, unless bindings are created to expose its functionalities to other ecosystems. That’s why aljazceru is adding bindings to our Rust SDK. In particular, the new contextvm-ffi crate is exposing bindings to C, Python, Kotlin, and Swift, promising to bring CVM functionalities to mobile development.

  • CVM improving Nostr: Some months ago we opened a PR in the Nostr Implementation Possibilities (NIP) repository. The PR has at last been merged, expanding NIP-59 to include a new kind for ephemeral gift wraps, a type already implemented in CVM. The work we are doing is benefitting the whole ecosystem!

  • CEP-15 is now in our website: CEP‑15 (Common Tool Schemas) has been merged into our website. This allows servers to define their categories and common tool hashes so they can be discovered and grouped accordingly. The result is a marketplace‑style UX where multiple servers can expose the same tools or use the same categories. Server operators can position their services within these common categories or tools, and users can navigate the marketplace to find the services that best suit their needs.

  • The team is working to update CEP-8, which specifies how payments should work for CVM, to add a new lifecycle based on explicit errors. This modification to the protocol, currently ongoing in PR44, would allow working with 402-like approaches.
