GM people, and welcome to the 12th issue of “The ContextVM World 🌍”, your biweekly appointment to discover everything you need to know about ContextVM, MCP, Nostr, and everything in between!

In today’s update, we cover the latest news from ContextVM. In particular, we discuss the latest release of the Rust SDK, bringing it closer to feature parity with the TS one.

We also discuss the latest news from the ecosystem. In particular, we cover the latest release of Cordn, which brings encrypted media into the MLS-based chat.

Additionally, we cover the features we are currently working on. Notably, the team is working on integrating the latest developments to CVMI, and reaching feature parity between the Rust and TS SDKs.

A list of updates, releases, and new cool features.

• Rust SDK: We recently published a new version of our Rust SDK, v0.2.0. This release marks a huge step towards feature parity with the TS SDK, integrating the following CEPs:

  • CEP-22 for oversized transfers;
  • CEP-41 for open-ended streams;
  • CEP-17 for smarter relay resolution;
  • CEP-6 for server announcements;
  • CEP-23 for profile metadata and social communications.

  v0.2.0 also comes with UniFFI bindings, providing support for Python, Swift, Kotlin, and C/C++!

§News from the ContextVM Ecosystem 🗞️

Find all the projects leveraging ContextVM on ContextVM/awesome.

• Encrypted media: Besao recently announced that the latest release of Cordn, the MLS-based protocol that leverages CVM for group coordination, added support for sharing end-to-end encrypted files and media. This feature comes with a new specification, defining how to encrypt and decrypt media for a chat. In the same release, support has also been added for pinned messages.

§What’s Next for ContextVM? ⏭️

• Our team is currently working on bringing the latest developments to CVMI. In particular, we are adding support for MCPB bundling and CEP-8 explicit payment gating.

• Moreover, the effort to reach feature parity between Rust and TS SDKs is ongoing. Check out IS64 to keep track of the progress!
