The NostrAsia conference just finished yesterday. It ran from November 1st through the 3rd both in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
When you combine free speech online Nostr with free money online (Bitcoin) you can start building a society that is truly by the people and for the people.
This year Nostr.World has held two conferences, one in Costa Rica (Nostrica) and NostrAsia. They were both free to attend and included free meals thanks to the generosity of @@sg6p…f63m.
If you are still wondering why Nostr is important, just think about this: Elon Musk wants X to be the center of your financial world. He wants X to fully replace your bank account. But what will happen when your X account gets closed because you said something that the government didn’t like?
Many people, who were speaking the truth during the pandemic, had their X accounts closed at the request of the government because the truth didn’t align with the narrative that the government was promoting.
What will you do when your whole financial world is on X and your X account gets closed? You will fear this possibility. You will refrain from speaking against the government because of this possibility.
We can’t have this. We want to instead build the tools that allow you to have everything connected through Nostr. This will grant you financial and speech freedom like you have never had before.
Nostr is still in early development. The apps are new, the user experience is still not as polished as centralized solutions, but it works and the community is working at breakneck speed to expand and improve Nostr so that it can fulfill its destiny.
