Fu Manchu’s A Look Back: Dogtown & Z-Boys.
The soundtrack to a documentary about a documentary about real-life pioneers.
Drag race music.
Nothing wrong with a good compilation record.

(A cool fucking blog I came across. This guy gets way deep into the details of lyrics and themes through much of their discography. A Fu Manchu scholar, salute! )
Notes from the broadcast
We’re going to hang onto this record for a while, but you should absolutely give it a listen. Sometimes a playlist or a compilation record is the way in, to be honest.
This album is a great mix of the band’s music lined up as the soundtrack to a skate documentary. Even cooler, is the director of the doc was skating those same pools with the rest of the Z-boys in the late 70s. If Fu Manchu’s catalog sounds anything like the early days modern skateboarding, this guy would probably know.
Steal these riffs, like skating new tricks.
