Wages are rising, employment is falling: What do these figures tell us?

Lately, there has been frequent discussion about the growth model Serbia has had so far, and the growth model it needs in the future. It is said that the time when economic growth could be driven by subsidizing foreign investments is over, partly because Serbia is no longer a country with cheap labor. Since 2006, Serbia has had a modern, democratic Constitution, but it is not being implemented. Since the end of 2024, students and high school students in our Republic, with strong support from rebellious citizens, have initiated changes demanding accountability for the deaths of 16 people in the collapse of a Novi Sad canopy, as well as for all the deformations of the political and legal system that enable the unlimited power of one party and one man.
