The Timescale Matters

Since August of last year, I’ve been fortunate to be part of a professional fellowship for folks in Illinois agriculture, called the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation. My cohort is about about halfway through our experience together, and our most recent seminar covered one of the most fascinating topics in the industry for me: sustainability. Throughout the two and a half days we spent at this seminar, my mind kept making connections across each speaker and back to experiences I’ve had working in the soil health world, and to how some of these ideas play out in our own personal lives and speak to more universal truths outside of the specific application of food production.
