Wikipedia Bans Use of AI for Writing Articles
Wikipedia has updated its policies to officially prohibit the use of large language models (LLMs) for generating or rewriting article content. The new rule, which gained majority support from volunteer editors, cites violations of core content policies. AI tools may still be used for basic copyedits of human-written text, provided they are reviewed for accuracy.
