Trump Envoys Take Ukraine Peace Push to Putin as Kyiv Visit Looms
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner traveled to Moscow to present a U.S. proposal aimed at advancing peace talks over Russia’s war in Ukraine. The meeting with Vladimir Putin placed the Trump administration’s diplomatic push directly before the Kremlin.

The timing matters. Rather than beginning with a visit to Kyiv, the two envoys met Putin again first — a sign that Washington is trying to test Moscow’s position while keeping its outreach to Ukraine in view.
