Running a Friendly Online PolyTrack Tournament

Time-trial racers are perfect for small online tournaments: everyone races the same track, nobody needs to be online at the same time, and the leaderboard does the judging.

Time-trial racers are perfect for small online tournaments: everyone races the same track, nobody needs to be online at the same time, and the leaderboard does the judging.

Choose the tracks

Pick three tracks of different styles: one flowing sprint, one technical, one with jumps. Share them as track codes so everyone races exactly the same layout.

Set a window, not a start time

Give players a week. Each submits a screenshot of their best time per track before the deadline. Different time zones stop being a problem.

Score simply

Rank players on each track and add up the positions; lowest total wins. This rewards all-round skill rather than one perfect lap.

Keep it fair and friendly

  • Same game version for everyone.
  • No editing track codes.
  • Post times in one shared thread so everyone can see progress.
  • Give a small award for the most improved time, not just the fastest.

Afterwards

Share the winning lines. Watching how someone else takes a corner is the fastest way for everyone to improve.

ThePolyTrack is an unofficial fan guide. Its community track list is a good place to choose tournament tracks, and the import guide helps players load the codes.
