• Red Herring #2 — The 1992 Barstow Desert Backmasking Dig: Seven Caltech tape traders drove two Civics to an abandoned AT&T Long Lines microwave horn near Barstow, CA at midnight with shovels after hearing ‘backward coordinates’ on Gasoline Heart at 42.6% speed—only to sever an SCE cathodic-protection wire and discover their unshielded Nakamichi head was picking up KWKW 1300 AM heterodyning against the 14.2001 Hz bias tone!
