Small Farms - Big Network

Small farms united in heart join to create one large shared network. This is how it works. Look at the mycelium and you will see.

I read a book a couple years back, Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake, which points to this notion I am poking about. The notion that the small changes the all. This book is all about mycelium and mushrooms. Fantastic read - captivating for sure.

Somewhere along my journey I also heard a phrase that went something like this… “Not every person needs to be a farmer, but every person ought to know a farmer”. I enjoy this phrase and think it makes a great deal of sense upon going through this recent adventure of living and working upon a farming operation. It strikes the core of my being when I combine this to the fact that I am so new this re-connection that is taking place between my self, Earth, Sky, the Elements, the Cosmos… most intimately to the Earth at this point in time as it is the primary place upon which I have been working recently. A new experience of re-connection to the land. This is the path upon which I am treading. Its twists and turns, this path, brings about newness, surprises, heart-ache, despair, and so much more at every turn… for life encompasses not only the highlight reels either our vain or dignified fruits of action, but also it contains the pitfalls and dread that once worked through bring about a greater sense of self and awareness within. Nature encompasses all; the good, the bad, the ugly, the pain, misery, guilt, fear, happiness, sadness, truth, evil, good, mystery, plainness, pleasure, pain, dullness, sharpness, rigidness and softness. All that is imaginable. It is diverse yet simple. Complex yet knowable. A great mystery it is. A great mystery we are. For these reasons, I find my whole self among nature. I find nature within and without. It is everywhere and we cannot escape it, nor will it escape us. Creators and co-creators my friends, is what we are.

I wish that you are strong and courageous, to do the bold, be your self and love one another unconditionally. You are enough as you are.
