Supporters of Flávio Bolsonaro gathered on São Paulo’s Avenida Paulista for the “Bloquinho 22,” an event that combined a campaign rally with the style and music of a Carnival block. Reporting from across the political spectrum described a crowd concentrated near MASP, with Bolsonaro travelling along the avenue on a sound truck alongside figures including São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas and congressman Nikolas Ferreira.

Right-leaning coverage emphasized the rally’s scale, its green-and-yellow visual identity and its security arrangements. One report said snipers were positioned on nearby buildings as authorities moved through the area. Ferreira contrasted the gathering with an earlier Lula-supporting demonstration, saying Bolsonaro’s event had drawn a larger crowd and ended without damage: “The metro [was] clean, no depredation, no vandalism. Everything calm.” Another account cited Pablo Marçal’s allegation that PT sympathizers had tried to disrupt the event, though it did not establish the identity or intent of the person shown in a video.

Other coverage likewise documented the crowd and the participation of leading conservative politicians, but focused on imagery that organizers appeared to regard as a distraction. Reports said some participants displayed an inflatable missile bearing the message “Trump nuke Brazil,” while U.S. and Israeli flags and MAGA-themed caps were also visible. Organizers reportedly asked attendees to put away foreign flags, saying: “Today is the Brazilian nation.”

Flávio Bolsonaro used the rally to frame the election as a break with the current government. He told supporters that they would see his father, Jair Bolsonaro, place the presidential sash on him if he won, while preserving his voice for a scheduled debate with Lula. A widely shared post featuring aerial footage also amplified the event’s turnout, with the accompanying post simply declaring: “Wow!”
