A 14 cm realistic lynx art doll with a posable wire skeleton: questions and answers

• How big is it?
• What is it made of?
• Can you really pose it?
• Is it a toy?
• Will I get the exact lynx in the photos?

In short: this is a small, realistic lynx made by hand by the Russian artist Mila. It stands about 14 cm (5.5 inches) tall at the shoulder, has a sculpted polymer clay head and paws, a body covered in faux fur, glass eyes, and a wire skeleton inside so you can pose it. It is listed on Like Art, a marketplace for real handmade dolls, teddies and art animals by 700+ artists.

§How big is it?

About 14 cm at the withers, the top of the shoulders. That is roughly the height of a coffee mug, so the lynx fits on a bookshelf or a desk while still being large enough to show the detail in the face and paws.

§What is it made of?

It is a mixed-media piece. The head and paws are sculpted from polymer clay, which is where the realistic features of a wild lynx come through: the face, the shape of the muzzle and the big paws. The body is covered with artificial fur, the eyes are glass, and a metal wire skeleton runs through the body.

§Can you really pose it?

Yes. The wire skeleton lets you bend the legs, body and head into different positions, so the lynx can stand, crouch as if it is stalking, or sit looking over its shoulder. Bend it gently and slowly, the way you would with any wire-armature art doll.

§Is it a toy?

No. The artist describes it as a collectible for adults who love realistic wildlife sculpture and art dolls. With glass eyes, clay parts and wire inside, it is meant for a shelf or display case, not for young children.

§Will I get the exact lynx in the photos?

The listing says so: the lynx in the photos is the piece you receive. Every photo, the artist’s full description and the current price and availability are on the product page.
