The Forgotten Turn
This topic came to mind because it happens to me quite often. I know I’m not the only one who experiences it. I’ve seen young people do it too, and I remember it happened to me even when I was younger.
Have you ever stood up to do something, only to forget what it was the moment you turned around? Then you find yourself walking back to the exact spot where you first had the idea, hoping your memory comes back. It sounds funny, but it happens more often than we realize.

At first, I thought it was simply part of getting older. Maybe age plays a role, but forgetfulness can happen to anyone, especially when we’re busy, stressed, or distracted.
I’m grateful that I have hobbies and online communities like Facebook, other social media platforms, and especially #BCHNostr. Writing, reading, sharing ideas, and interacting with others help keep my mind active. My son was right when he encouraged me to have something meaningful to do. A hobby isn’t just a way to pass the time—it also keeps the brain engaged.

Many people remind us to exercise our bodies, but it’s just as important to exercise our minds. A healthy mind and a healthy body go hand in hand.

Here are a few simple ways to help improve memory:
- Stay mentally active by reading, writing, learning, or solving puzzles.
- Keep a daily routine to reduce mental overload.
- Get enough sleep because a tired brain forgets more easily.
- Stay physically active, as regular exercise supports brain health.
- Write down important tasks or use reminders on your phone.
- Pray, stay positive, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone forgets things from time to time.
Forgetting something occasionally doesn’t mean there’s something wrong. The important thing is to keep learning, stay active, and continue taking care of both your mind and your body.
Have a blessed day, #BCHNostr family! ❤️
