NFL's Week 1 9/11 tribute begins in Seattle with wild guitar solo during national anthem

The NFL’s Week 1 games commenced with a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, beginning with a moment of silence at Lumen Field. Following the silence, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready performed a rendition of the national anthem, described as “authentically Seattle.” The Seattle Seahawks’ tribute also included an invitation to first responders and concluded with a military flyover.
