I started using a throw blanket in my massage chair because the room gets cool in the evening. It makes sessions more comfortable, but it also changes how the chair feels. A blanket can soften pressure, block airbags, or bunch under my feet if I am not careful.

The first thing I watch is airbag interference. A thick folded blanket over my arms or calves can keep an airbag from wrapping evenly. I use a thin throw and smooth it flat before starting. If a program feels weaker on one side, I pause and check whether fabric is bunched under the airbag. I also avoid tucking the blanket tightly around me; the chair needs room to inflate and release.

Footrest coverage takes more thought. I want my feet warm, but I still want the foot rollers and airbags to work. I fold the blanket so it covers my ankles and the top of my feet without hanging under the footrest. A long blanket can get caught when the footrest moves, so I keep the extra fabric on my lap or drape it over the armrest, not near moving parts.

Fabric snag is a quiet problem. Loose weaves, fringe, zippers, and hook-and-loop closures can catch on seams or upholstery. I use a smooth knit throw with a simple hem. Before each session, I run a hand over the seat and footrest to feel for grit or a sharp edge. A small snag is easier to stop early.

Room temperature matters because the chair and blanket both hold heat. I keep the room a little cooler than I would for reading and use a lighter blanket. If I feel too warm, I fold the blanket back instead of ending the session. For general setup ideas, I check zero gravity massage chair session tips before changing my routine.

I wash my throw every few sessions, following its care label. I use a gentle cycle and low heat, and I skip fabric softener because it can leave a slick film. A clean, flat blanket makes the chair feel more predictable.
