Portions of National Mall closed until January for turf, tree restoration
Parts of the National Mall were closed Tuesday and will remain closed through Jan. 24, 2027 so the National Park Service can restore turf and foliage.
Several sections of the National Mall have been closed as of Tuesday. These closures are scheduled to last until January 24, 2027. The National Park Service is implementing these closures to undertake a restoration of the area’s turf and foliage.
