Nigerian Man to Plead Guilty Over Suicide of South Carolina Republican Rep’s Son Due to Sextortion (VIDEO)

A Nigerian man, Hassanbunhussein Abolore Lawal, is expected to plead guilty to federal charges related to the sextortion and suicide death of 17-year-old Gavin Guffey in 2022. Lawal posed as a young woman online, coerced Guffey into sending compromising photos, and then harassed him for money. Guffey’s father, South Carolina State Rep. Brandon Guffey, has since introduced legislation to combat sexual exploitation.
