Bitcoin Standard Rails and the ₿LAN(d) Stack

A mapping of how altcoin Bitcoin L2s and metaprotocols might evolve to meet and help people migrate to a more Bitcoin-Standard future with Lightning, Arkade and Nostr.
Bitcoin Standard Rails and the ₿LAN(d) Stack

So toxic maxis prefer a BTC + LN + Arkade + Nostr (BLAN) stack vs EVM/SVM L2s - why? Shitcoins will come to BLAN as well, but I guess it’s like putting skatestoppers on benches and platforms to filter them a bit.

There’s an understanding of just something being possible in a way doesn’t mean it’s the best way to do it. The BTC time preference has infected their minds to take the long way round… nearly every single time! Sound money truly demands proof of work.

On the BLAN stack, socially important data will cross the hurdles and be remembered, while the casino data is more easily forgotten. This is SlowFi by design.

The other thing about the stack having money, payments, programmability and data on separate layers is it does support people in self-custodying Lightning and running full nodes.

The argument is that people can choose their own associations as opposed to being required to host the whole stack as a trade-off for self-custody. Can’t argue with that.

I’m very keen to convert BLAN to => BLAND, by adding a DApp protocol/browser on top of BLAN. I expect we’ll need some standards of interoperability in self-custody, particularly with multi-sigs to support the increase in trade and partnerships in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

We have many more steps to build for along the way, but one thing is clear to me - EVM/SVM and alt-token L2s will plug into and even be acquired by the fiat ecosystem bringing a lot of good in the world of finance, and it will only be a half-way step.

The real Bitcoin economy must be rooted in a self-custody self-sovereign stack without any fiat derivatives. In many ways, people will remain frustrated by Blackrock and JPM et al.‘s hold over the new rails and slowly then suddenly make the hop over to BLAND, where it’s more Keep It Stupid Simple.

The irony of all this is that most people won’t even realize it or even see it the way I am currently purporting it to be, and it will be.

That said, I don’t believe Ordinals are going away. The value proposition of immortal art on the mother time chain, accessible to all, is well and truly proven. Nostr won’t crack it, though I applaud the efforts made by arkpunks.com recently.

As for Runes, they still need to find their use-case and memes are not it… I think the opportunity there is mainly on big-ticket, high-culture, long-term things related to stablecoins / RWA, and migrating the fiat world over. These will be assets that don’t need high frequency trading and leverage.

A transitory system is needed to onboard, educate and welcome all to slowly but surely embrace the Bitcoin Standard, and I’m here for all of it. Run Knots and Core30, and stay toxic, or don’t - we need both and all.
