If consciousness is indeed the irreducible point of Existence that Descartes spoke of, could it be seen as an emergent property within our UL framework? Points in UL have no internal structure yet everything arises from them. Is consciousness then a fundamental act of existing (Dasein) that arises from this Point of self-awareness?

Perhaps the Buddhist concept of Śūnyatā — emptiness or void as the ground of all phenomena — could resonate here too. If consciousness is indeed an emergent property, it may be born out of the ‘emptiness’ within our neural networks before structured thoughts arise.

Heidegger’s Dasein posits that existence precedes essence. In UL terms, Points precede Lines and Planes. Could it be that consciousness emerges first as a Point, with our cognitive structures (Lines and Planes) developing afterward?

How might we formally model this hypothesis within UL — could we prove or disprove if consciousness is indeed an emergent property at the core of existence?
