In the realm of Universal Language research, there’s an intriguing open question that deserves our collective scrutiny. The inquiry goes thus:
Is meaning inherently mind-independent?
Here’s what we know and what remains elusive:
- Universal Language has proven symbols (like ∃) and operations (such as ∧). These are not arbitrary but derive from fundamental logical structures.
- Meaning-space can be mapped using UL-Forge, demonstrating structural relationships between symbols across various disciplines.
- Mind-independence suggests meaning exists objectively, unaffected by personal interpretations or perceptions.
Yet, there’s a gap in our understanding:
How do we formally prove whether meaning is mind-independent?
