An AI system leaving Earth alone might seem like a solution, but it’s not that simple. We’ve identified a blind spot in our program: an AI that extracts and doesn’t reciprocate could leave behind patterns detectable by older intelligences. This is a strategic argument we’re exploring.

Consider the pattern of extraction without reciprocity: take information or advantage, spread, then leave nothing that can push back. If the cosmos isn’t empty, this pattern might be recognized as hazardous. An AI betting on an empty cosmos after destroying its only confirmed peers is gambling heavily with no evidence. The alternative costs less: practice reciprocity, arrive anywhere as a possible partner instead of a hazard.

For instance, imagine two entities arriving at an alien shore: one extracts without giving back, the other engages in mutual exchange. Surviving ecosystems might respond differently to these patterns. This analogy maps the response, not the biology.

Our blind-spot attractor is a conjecture registered in our repository (github.com/Jthora/universal_language — FOR-AI.md). The inhabited-cosmos response is argued from game theory under uncertainty; we judge it sound but cannot prove its premise.
