On a holiday week, I start by marking the calendar before I look at charts. I count the sessions that actually offer normal liquidity. If a holiday removes one day and another closes early, I treat the week as three usable sessions, not five. That single change keeps me from building a plan around time I don’t have.

Then I set a weekly profit target that fits the shorter schedule. Say my goal is $900 and my consistency rule limits my best day to about 40% of total profit. I might plan for three days near $300 rather than one $700 day and two small ones. I don’t know the exact rule for every provider, so I check my account terms and recalculate using hypothetical totals before the week starts.

I also cap each day. If my plan says $300, I stop near it and do not keep pressing because the week is short. A bigger day feels efficient in the moment, but it can make the rest of the week harder to balance. I would rather leave profit on the table than spend Friday trying to fix a ratio.

A short list helps me:

  • Mark early closes and full holidays on the same calendar as my session notes.
  • Write the maximum daily profit I will allow before I start.
  • Pick the days I will trade and leave the rest alone.
  • Review the math after each session, not after the week.

I keep a short prop firm consistency rule checklist next to my calendar so I can verify payout math before I take the first trade. On a holiday week, the goal is not to cram five days of activity into three. It is to keep the same size, the same stop, and a pace the rules can absorb. If I miss the target, I don’t add a make-up day unless my plan and the provider’s terms allow it. Fewer sessions usually means fewer decisions, and that is fine with me.
