How to buy a travel eSIM with USDT: the short version
I get asked a lot how to actually buy a travel eSIM with USDT, so here is the short version from my own trips.
Before you start
Check that your phone takes an eSIM. On an iPhone look under Settings, Mobile Service. On Android it is usually under Network, SIM manager. The phone also needs to be unlocked, otherwise the plan will not activate.
Buying it
If you want to buy esim with crypto, CryptoeSIM lets you pay in USDT. Pick where you are going, choose a data size that is a bit bigger than you think you need, and go to checkout. You get a wallet address and a QR code. Send the exact amount on the network shown, wait for the confirmation, and the eSIM QR code comes through.
Small things that save hassle
- Tron and other low fee networks are cheap, but only use the network the checkout names.
- Copy the address rather than typing it.
- Install the eSIM while you still have wifi at home.
- Leave your home SIM on for calls and texts, and set the eSIM as your data line.
- Turn data roaming off on your home line so it does not quietly charge you.
That is it. The first time takes ten minutes, after that it is quicker than queueing at an airport kiosk.
