venting on the struggles of trying to improve one's skills as an adult

Studying as an Adult

I try to live life without regrets, but as I get older I often look back and nitpick; for example, I would never say I should never have played video games or watched youtube/ movies/ etc., but what I will say is that I should never have rewatched them so many times. Time is THE MOST valuable resource that a person has, to the point where I would easily say that we waste it on trivial things from idle, hateful thoughts to jobs that will never fulfill us spiritually, mentally, or financially.

Part of using this time wisely, however, is studying. Hardening our Neuronic behavioral pathways to better suit our needs, whatever they may be. Part of getting older does necessitate that we begin to lose our mental faculties though, and I can honestly feel that I am either overwhelmed by my near 24 hour job or simply so out of practice learning wise from being a decade out of school that memorizing even simple songs often leads to frustrations or god forbid a migraine.

Still, I think practicing my learning ability is ultimately the correct choice regardless of the pain, otherwise I will be stuck at this dead end career without having accomplished anything meaningful with my life.
