Drive Mad vs Other Physics Driving Games (Updated)
If you have never played it, Drive Mad is a 2D driving puzzle: get the car to the finish flag without tipping over, breaking apart or falling off the map.
The version I use is at play Drive Mad online; it plays in the browser with keyboard or touch and saves progress locally.
Watch where the car’s weight is. A heavy rear means it will wheelie; a heavy front means it will dive. Adjust with tiny taps.
The most useful habit is braking with reverse before a landing. Touching down level saves more runs than any amount of speed.
Some levels hand you a truck, others a tiny buggy or a monster wheel car. Each vehicle balances differently, so the same trick may not work twice.
Later stages add moving platforms, gears and crates that can push you off course. Treat each one like a timing puzzle and count the rhythm before you go.
A full level list lives at Drive Mad levels, which is handy after switching to a new device.
What I like most is the honesty of the physics. When you crash, you can see exactly why, and the next attempt is usually better.
It is a calm game in a strange way. There is no timer pressure, just you, the car and a slightly ridiculous obstacle.
See you at the finish flag. — Drive Mad Unblocked
